The end customer can change his purchase decision just by looking at the cap of the container. And although for that person it may be just a plastic cap, for your business it should mean the "finishing touch" of the product.
At VBC we offer high quality plastic products, and in our vast variety you will find the best options for covers. That is why in this article we tell you the materials we use to make plastic caps.
Polypropylene (PP)
It is a perfect material for microwaveable containers as it stands out for its hardness, vapor barrier and heat resistance, an alternative to Styrofoam.
Advantage:
- Significant stiffness increases with mineral loads.
- Increased impact resistance with elastomers.
Polypropylene Homopolymer (PPH)
Homopolymer is the most widely used on the market. PPH offers a high strength-to-weight ratio and unlike copolymer, it is more rigid, as it is combined with good chemical resistance and weldability that allows this material to be used in many corrosion resistant structures.
Advantage:
- Excellent chemical resistance in corrosive environments.
- Resists most acids, degreasers and organic solvents.
- Low moisture absorption rate.
- Meets food handling guidelines.
Polypropylene Copolymer (PPC) (PPC)
This material is a little softer, but has better impact resistance, is stronger and more durable than PPH. It also has better resistance to stress cracking and lower temperature toughness than homopolymer.
Advantage:
- Light.
- Stain resistant.
- Does not absorb moisture
- Good resistance to cracking at low temperatures.
- High impact resistance.
- Excellent chemical resistance in corrosive environments.
